Loading data from GeoDataObjectService using React hooks

Hi,

We are testing loading GeoSpatial data using the GeoDataObjectService rather than a generic LEAF DataObjectService. Using this service allows us to receive a GeoJSON feed back rather than the normal DataObject feed (we are just testing this method as of right now).

Is there a React Hook similar to useDataObjects, or is there a way to utilize that hook to work with a GeoDataObjectService. As of right now it looks like the only type of service that can be passed into the hook is IDataObjectService and not IGeoDataObjectService.

Thanks!

Update:

Slack Discussion with @andrew.f.wiesenmayer:

hey Cade! I saw the slack notification for the post but I didn’t have a chance to read it until now. You’re correct about the hook, and it’s absolutely fine with me if you want to take on the task of implementing it. Thanks for the heads up! also feel free to reach out if you run into any issues

  • Based on discussion the useDataObjects hook does not support an IGeoDataObjectService, and there is currently no React hook built-in to allow for this. @corey.c.fitzpatrick and @cmicciche will work on implementing this hook, which can then be later pulled into the LJS baseline.
