Just Starting with JavaScript

Our team has zero experience with JavaScript. We would like to prototype the simplest of Dashboard/Map UI’s, based on some of our existing LEAF metadata, to inform us better on upcoming task selection, design, and upskilling requirements.

What training suggestions do you have that will smooth our way into using LEAF Web UI’s?

What suggestions do you have for “lab” like examples for such a web UI? Seeing an example project, akin to the car metadata based labs, would be very useful to getting us on our feet.

Thanks.

We are familiar with the following pages:
LEAF UI Components
LEAF Dashboard
LEAF UI Map

Here are the “Quick Start” labs for LEAF. You can download the code as a zip

There are also training videos associated with the Quick Start that @Steven.S.Tidd can help you get access to.

Hi Jonathan,

As @caleb.m.mchenry mentioned, the Workday Intro to LEAF course has video based content and textual documentation. Here’s a list of items from the course that may be of particular interest to you:

  1. The Quick-Start app is a React based application.
  2. Tour of the Client-Side Code.
  3. The Frontend DataObjectService Lab.
  4. Subscribe to DataChangeEvents Server-Side.

Starting in Q1, we will be working on a LEAF JS specific training. Keep an eye out for its future release.
