Colleagues,
We are happy to announce LEAF’s latest release, LEAF 3.15. This quarter our
team focused on improving the user experience across multiple LEAF components.
Multiple classes were added to improve customization options, the ability to add
custom i18n instances for translations was implemented, and improvements and bug
fixes were made to the Admin Tool and Rules Editor Tool.
Continue to the content below for more information about the changes in LEAF
3.15.
LEAF 3.15 Release Highlights
Check out the following highlights of the 3.15 release and visit our
detailed release notes:
-
ListenerandBufferedListenerclasses were added. These reusable,
resilient listeners offer alternatives to StreamReader’sforEachmethods.
These added listeners provide users with more configurable options, such as
enabling custom handlkng when a stream fails. More information on the added
classes and configuration options can be found in the
Listeners guide. -
Extensible classes were added for all SqlGenerationServices. The addition
of extensible classes makes the SqlGenerationServices hookable, which allows
custom hooks to be applied to them. -
The
nestedDataObjectDataObjectQuery filter was added. This filter
allows for filtering on DataObject Fields in a DataObject. See the DataObjectFieldMetadata guide for more information. -
Custom i18n instances now supported: The ability to use custom i18n instances for
translation was added to all LEAF-JS components that have localization props,
e.g., DisplayLayout and DataObjectTable. Visit the DisplayLayout and DataObjectTable guides for implementation information. -
Improvements to the Admin Tool and Rules Editor Tool: This release
includes multiple bug fixes for the Admin Tool and Rules Editor Tool to
improve compatibility with DisplayLayouts and query building across multiple
interactive components. User experience improvements were also made to the
Rules Editor Tool, specifically focused on the process of saving and editing
rules. -
Compatibility for Kubernetes 1.29 added:
LEAFctlhas been updated to stand
up a local cluster using Kubernetes 1.29. LEAF Helm charts have also been
updated to be compatible with Kubernetes 1.29.
LEAF Spotlight: LEAF in One Hour
Our team is excited to showcase a new introductory training course for LEAF. The
goal of this course is to emphasize that any development team can utilize the
LEAF tools to create a fully functional code that can act as the starting point
for customer-specific requirements within an hour.
In this course, participants will set up a LEAF development environment,
generate a variety of microservices utilizing LEAF’s command line interface LEAFctl, customize the metadata in a generated data service to reflect the attributes of a social media platform, generate and deploy a React Application on which DataObjects can be created and edited, and finally design a custom hook to modify the load method of the application.
In addition to the LEAF in One Hour guide, our team has published a video tutorial that demonstrates the process of developing a LEAF-based application.
If you or a member of your team is interested in taking this course or sharing
it with others, it is available within the LEAF Knowledge Base.
Reach out to our training coordinator if you or a team member need temporary credentials to begin building a LEAF-based application and further understand how LEAF can support your project!
